Somewhere along the way, you *started* building a project workflow.

You may not have called it that. It may have grown sideways, shaped by projects and hard lessons and the particular way you learned to do things. But it's there and it's yours.

You always meant to write it down, but here you are. Stuck somewhere between meaning to and actually getting around to it.

That's what we're here to fix.

The Problem

Quick question…
If you stepped away from your business tomorrow (think completely unreachable), could anyone else run a project from start to finish without calling you? Could a new hire walk in on Monday and understand, without a six-week learning curve and three hundred follow-up questions, what actually happens between the first inquiry and the final invoice?

Important follow-up question: Could you?
Not in the abstract. Not "yes, I know how my projects go." We’re talking specifically. In writing. Step by step, phase by phase, clear enough that the version of you having a terrible Tuesday six months from now could open a document and know exactly what comes next.

For most business owners, the answer to both questions is no.

Your process lives in your head. Every step, every sequence, every "we always do this before we do that" lives exactly where it has always lived: somewhere behind your eyes, shifting slightly every time you reach for it. It is not a system so much as an intention, reconstructed fresh at the start of each project and never quite identical to the last time. You are not running a process. You are remembering one. Imperfectly, under pressure, every single time.

You’ve probably tried to fix it.
The tool that was going to change everything. The template you found on a Saturday and abandoned by Wednesday. The course that made excellent sense and produced exactly zero implemented changes. The hire you brought on before you had anything real to hand them, who then struggled, which you blamed on the hire.

None of it worked because none of it was the actual solution. The actual solution is documentation. Yours, specifically. Written down. On purpose. With someone in your corner the whole time.

The Solution

This is not another course.

The Poised & Plumb Workflow Intensive is a half-day working session where you build your project workflow in real time, with structure, guidance, and support, and walk away with a document that reflects how your projects actually run.

Not a template someone else made. Not some framework to figure out later. Yours. Built on June 30th.

STEP 1

ESTABLISH A PLAN

We’ll create a clear, structured plan that covers every key decision upfront so your projects stay on track and move forward with confidence.

STEP 2

BUILD WITH CONFIDENCE

With a solid foundation in place, you’ll build out all the pieces you need for your complete project workflow. We’ll guide you through the process so everything stays stress-free.

STEP 3

ENJOY THE WORKFLOW OF YOUR DREAMS

With every decision made upfront and communication flowing smoothly, your projects will come together with fewer surprises and less frustration. You might even finally be able to take a vacation.

What You'll Walk Away With

By the end of the session, you'll have:

  • A documented project workflow covering every phase, from the moment a client inquires to the moment you close the file.
  • A clear picture of every step, deliverable, and communication touchpoint that belongs in your process.
  • A list of the Standard Operating Procedures needed for each phase (a.k.a. the help guides that let your projects run without you holding everything together by hand).
  • A realistic inventory of what you already have, what's missing, and exactly how to plug it all in.
  • A foundation you can use right away, refine over time, and hand to someone else without losing anything in translation.

How It Works

Before the Session
Starting June 23rd, you'll receive ten short pre-recorded videos delivered over several days leading up to June 30. They'll cover the specific things you need to understand before you can document your process effectively, including why most documentation attempts fail, how to think about deliverables, what communication touchpoints actually belong in a workflow, and how to know when a phase is truly done.

Watch them at your own pace in whatever time your week allows. They're short enough to fit between appointments and specific enough to be useful. By the time June 30 arrives, you won't be starting from zero. You'll be starting from ready.

You'll also complete a short set of pre-work prompts before the session begins. A brain dump of your project steps, a light document inventory, and three questions that will tell you exactly where to focus your attention when the afternoon starts.

The Live Session | Tuesday, June 30 | 12:30 - 5:30 PM Eastern
Clear your afternoon. Mute your phone. No checking email. This time is just for you.

The live session will be five hours on Zoom. Yes, breaks are built in (we’re not monsters). There will be timed working sprints, structured peer interaction, and real-time guidance from throughout. You're not watching a presentation. You're working the whole time, and you will never be left to figure something out on your own.

The session is capped at 20 participants so that we're able to see what you're building and give you feedback that means something. Please note: Because this is a live, interactive experience, there will be no recording. Block June 30th on your calendar before you register. No, seriously, do it now before something else gets there first.

After the Session
You'll leave with a working document and one concrete action to take in the next seven days. The process doesn't end when the session does, but the hard part (getting it out of your head and onto paper) will be done.

A week later, on Tuesday, July 7th at 1:00 PM Eastern, we'll come back together for a one-hour Q&A. Bring the thing that came up while you were finishing up the details. Bring the question you forgot to ask during the intensive. Bring the section that gave you trouble. This is dedicated time to work through whatever surfaced after the dust settled, with both of us in the room to help you sort it out.

Who This Is For

The Workflow Intensive is built for service business owners who are good at what they do and running their projects from memory. Whether that memory is twenty years deep or two, the problem is the same.

You're in the right place if any of this sounds familiar.

You've been in business long enough to have a process, even if you've never written it down. You've tried templates, courses, or new software and none of it stuck. You know something has to change and you're ready to actually do something about it rather than add it to the list of things you're thinking about doing something about.

Sometimes the person who needs the documentation most isn't your team or your next hire. It's you. Because knowing something and having it written down are two entirely different things. One shifts slightly every time you reach for it. The other stays put.

Interior designers, general contractors, stagers, workrooms, landscape designers, stylists, or any service professional running client projects from memory. This was made for you.

Who This Is Not For

If you're just getting started and still figuring out what your service model looks like, sit tight. We recommend you have a few projects under your belt and a process starting to take shape. The good news is that time comes faster than you think and we'll be ready for you.

Who We Are

We are Dixie and Paxton Willard, the mother/daughter co-founders of Poised & Plumb, a virtual operations and workflow consultancy serving residential interior designers, general contractors, landscape designers, stagers, workrooms, and other project-based service businesses nationwide.

We specialize in evaluating and streamlining software setups, helping our clients build customized project workflows, and documenting the processes that have never made it out of someone's head. Every system is specific to how that individual business runs, not how it's "supposed" to run on paper and not how someone else's business runs.

What's Included

You'll receive:

  • Ten short pre-recorded prep videos delivered starting June 23rd
  • Pre-work prompts to complete before the live session
  • Five hours of live, structured working time on Zoom with Dixie and Paxton, with breaks included
  • A pre-configured Google Doc template to build in during the session
  • Real-time guidance and feedback throughout the afternoon
  • A one-hour follow-up Q&A on Tuesday, July 7th at 1:00 PM Eastern
  • A care package, on us, mailed to you before the session (You deserve a treat for finally sitting down and getting this done!)

FAQs

Q: What kind of business is this for?

A: Any established service-based business where projects have a defined start and end. Interior designers, general contractors, landscape designers, stagers, workrooms, and stylists are our primary audience, but if you run client projects and your process lives in your head, this was built for you.

Q: Do I need to have my process figured out before I show up?

A: No. You need experience running projects, not a polished system. That's what we're building together. The pre-work helps you gather your raw material, and we'll organize it from there.

Q: What if my business is different from the examples you use?

A: Don't let the examples throw you. If you run client projects and your process lives in your head, the session works for you. Even when business types look different on the surface, the problem underneath is always the same (and so is the solution). Bring your business. We'll make it fit.

Q: Will I walk away with a finished workflow?

A: You'll walk away with a real, working foundation. Every phase documented, a clear picture of what's missing, and exactly how to complete it. What remains is filling in gaps, not starting over. And if questions come up while you're finishing things out, that's what July 7th is for.

Q: What if I can't make it to the live session?

A: The live session is where the real work happens, and there's no recording. "Protect June 30th" means more than blocking your calendar. It means deciding in advance that this afternoon is not available for anything else, and holding that line. If you’re not 100% sure you can make it on June 30th, the kindest thing you can do for yourself is wait for the next session.

Q: Is there any support after the session?

A: Yes. The follow-up Q&A on July 7th is included with your registration and is dedicated time to work through whatever surfaced after June 30th. If what comes up during the intensive calls for more, deeper engagements with Poised & Plumb are available. We're happy to talk through what that looks like.

Q: Why is the group capped at 20?

A: Because this isn't a webinar. At 20 participants, Dixie and Paxton can get into your document, see what you're building, and give you feedback that actually means something. At 50, that's just not possible.

Q: What do I need to have ready before the session?

A: A working Zoom setup, your Google Doc open, and your pre-work completed. We'll send everything you need in the days leading up to June 30th.

Q: When does early bird pricing end?

A: June 5th. After that, the price moves to $297 for the remainder of registration.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: We don't offer refunds. Not because we're coldhearted, but because every seat in this session is prepared for, supported, and capped for a reason. We know that's a firm line, and we mean it kindly: only register if you're sure, not if you're hoping things will work out. If a true emergency comes up, let us know. We're human, too.

You’ve Been Meaning to Do This for a While Now.
